I found this video amusing. It’s obviously staged but typical of men none the less. I especially love the ending.
I wonder how many guys actually get themselves in to similar DIY disaster situations. Ever been in a similar situation while doing DIY?
I was just browsing the net, as I do and come across these from a cartoon website, they have a whole section dedicated to DIY disasters. Some real classics in there. Thought you might like em.
I love scanning the net, I get to see just how bad some tradesman’s work is.
This particular guy had put the cable’s over the TOP of the heating pipes leaving them to burn the sheathing.
For non professionals reading this blog, you’re supposed to place them under the pipes and through the floor joists. Not on top of the bloody hot pipes.
I wonder how many more faults we could find in this Essex home.
I wonder if the guys still in business.
I was reading through one of the electrician forums earlier, I read a post that made me laugh. An electrician had been called out to a property in Basildon, they wanted some work doing in the kitchen, a plumber had been in to do some work and had bought with him some newly hired guys.
Everything seemed to go according to plan, until that is, the plumber did a few last minute checks to the cooker and found it had water running to it rather than gas. haha.
He wasn’t a happy bunny to say that least. I wonder if he’ll be keeping the new guys on.
As many if you will know the reg’s are changing again, bad news for those that have just paid all that money to pass their 16th edition. Though it is good that they are keeping on top of things. It is going to be published sometime in Jan 2008, though we will have until july 2008 before it comes into effect.
When it does, ALL commercial, domestic and industrial wiring installations must be designed to the specification set out in BS7671 : 2008.
If you wish to find out what the changes will be, take a look at the official NICEIC website.
Good luck everybody
